1. Why is texture so important to have in your sketches?
It is important because it allows you to see the way the animal would feel.  Also you can see the background and how it relates to the animal.  Lastly it makes the animal more realistic.

2. Why is it necessary for you to have several references of each animal and each background? Explain.
It gives a variety of views to chose from.  It also gives you a better understanding of how the animal and background look.  It lastly helps you look for the animals texture.

3. When you look at your sketches are you able to see which sketch is the strongest and will make the best print? How do you know this?
Yes because you can tell which textures are better then others.  Also it will give a cool looking texture to make the animal look alive.

1. Explain your experience working on a team and executing your ideas for the mural.
At first we didn't know what to do for this project so we started just making up random ideas.  I came up with two ideas that were pretty good but not that great.  We worked together and after everyday we could tell a lot of progress was being made from all of our hard work.

2. Explain the importance of collaboration when working on a team.
Working as a team was important because it taught us to work together and the value of hard work.  We would take turns on who was doing what work .  We would also give our group members constructive criticism.

3.  How successful was this project? Explain how and why.
This project was very successful and I had a fun time doing it.  It was fun because I enjoy doing big long projects.  This project was successful because we worked as a team and made a great oiece of art.

4. Explain how you feel about creating artwork that others can interact with. Ex. Involving the whole school?
It feels great to make something the whole school can use and enjoy.  I think that the school will really like this.  Everyone made one of these and everyones is different and unique in many ways.

1. Explain the process you went through to develop your drawing.
First we had a picture of someone and we would trace their outline onto the the paper.  Then we would lightly draw shapes of where the lights and darks were different.  Then lastly we shaded the areas based on the picture and our value scale.

2. Explain how you found the different values in the portrait?
We took the picture and we would draw shapes based on where the light was and where it wasnt.  Then we took those and drew them on the paper which we traced the ooutline of the person.

3.  Did you achieve a full range of the different values within your portrait?  How?
Yes because we looked at our value scale and almost half the face was a darker shade while the other half was a light shade.  It was difficult to get the right shade for the whole face.

4. Describe your craftsmanship.  Is the artwork executed and crafted neatly?
I worked hard and took my time to make this look the best that I could do.  For the most part it is neat but there was a couple of spots I could have cleaned up.

5. List any obstacles you had to overcome and how you dealt with them.
Some obstacles that I had to overcome was time and the darkness of shading.  This project was time consuming and I finished at almost the last minute.  The darkness of shading was hard because you had to get it the right value or it looked bad.

Turtles

Today we drew turtles, bugs, shells, and pine cones.  The turtles were the hardest because they were constantly moving around.  I think this helped my drawing because it taught me to look at what I'm drawing at other then the paper using stored symbols.  We would have different objects on the table and we would have around ten minutes to draw one object.  After the ten minutes were up we would switch to another table and draw another object.  My favorite thing to draw was the turtle because it challenged me the most.  Next time I would focus even more on the object and less on the paper.
Today we made our own cartoon drawing with a skeleton inside.   It was really fun and the hardest part was making up your own bones to fill the inside of their body.  Everyone brought in their own cartoon and I think that next time I would do a more difficult cartoon to challenge myself.  How we did it was we took the cartoon and turned it over and shaded the back.   Then we turned it over and put another sheet of paper under amd drew the outline of the cartoon.  Finally we added bones into their body and we were done.  I liked that we could add our own creativity into the piece and it shows our personality.  I learned how to proportionize bones according to a characters body size.
